Building StudRush to $10k MRR: Seeking 2 Founding Partners

"We are building StudRush, an AI-powered exam triage engine for students, and scaling it to $10k MRR. We are seeking 2 founding partners: one for Growth & Community, and one for Product, with equal equity and transparent vesting."

Building StudRush to $10k MRR: Seeking 2 Founding Partners
FIGURE // 01 · SYSTEM ARTIFACTRelease
Executive Architectural Summary
  • ↳Live Mobile Product: An app that turns a syllabus into three simple lists: Must-Know, Should-Know, and Skip If Short On Time
  • ↳Exam Trap Detection: Upload a past paper or course outline and get short study notes plus the common mistakes students make on that topic
  • ↳Target Milestone: Going from our first student users to $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue
  • ↳Seeking 2 Founding Partners: One person to lead Growth & Community, one to lead Product
  • ↳Equity Structure: 10% to Felabs Studio, 90% split equally 3 ways (30% each) between the founder and the two partners, with a 4-year vest, 1-year cliff, and a $10K MRR walkaway clause

Every semester, millions of university and college students face the exact same panic: an exam in 48 hours, an overwhelming 400-page syllabus, zero clear guidance on what actually matters, and no time to read everything. We built StudRush to solve this. Now, we are looking for two people to help us take it from zero users to $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR).

The Product: Why Cramming Is Broken

Most study apps treat every page of a textbook the same. That doesn't work when an exam is two days away. Students don't have 40 hours to read everything. They have a few hours between classes and need to know exactly what to focus on.

StudRush is built for that moment. A student picks their subject and how much time they have (30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours), or uploads their actual past paper or course outline. The app then sorts the material into three groups:

• Must-Know: The core ideas that show up most often on the exam.

• Should-Know: Extra topics worth reviewing if there's time left.

• Skip If Short On Time: Topics that aren't worth the time when you're cramming.

For each topic, StudRush also gives short study notes and flags the common mistakes students make, the things that quietly cost marks.

What I Bring to the Table as Technical Founder

StudRush is backed by Felabs Studio. As the technical founder, I build and maintain the app itself, so my partners can put all their time into getting students to use it and making it better for them.

FOUNDER & STUDIO COMMITMENT

What I'm Responsible For

  • ↳Building the app: A fast, reliable mobile and web app.
  • ↳The AI behind it: The system that reads a syllabus or past paper and turns it into study notes.
  • ↳The backend: Everything that keeps accounts, data, and syncing working smoothly.
  • ↳Fast iteration: Shipping fixes and new features quickly based on what we learn from users.
  • ↳Studio support: Felabs Studio covers our hosting costs, AI costs, and design help.

Founding Partner #1: Growth & Community

This is the person who gets StudRush in front of students and keeps them talking about it. It combines two things that were previously split into separate roles, because in practice they're the same job: getting students to find out about StudRush, and getting them to stick around because their friends are using it too.

ROLE 01 // EQUITY PARTNER

Growth & Community Focus Areas

  • ↳Short videos: Make and post content on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts about exam stress and cramming, the kind students actually share.
  • ↳Creator partnerships: Find and work with study-content creators and student influencers to show off the app.
  • ↳Word of mouth: Build a simple invite or referral system so students bring their classmates in.
  • ↳Search visibility: Make sure StudRush shows up when students search things like 'how to cram for an exam'.
  • ↳Campus reach: Recruit a few student ambassadors at different schools to spread the word in person.
  • ↳Communities: Build a presence in places students already talk, like Discord, WhatsApp, and Reddit study groups.
  • ↳Tracking what works: Keep simple numbers on where new users come from and which efforts are actually paying off.

Founding Partner #2: Product

Getting students to download the app is one thing. Getting them to rely on it during exam week is what actually grows revenue. This person owns the experience of using StudRush, from first open to paying for it, starting with just talking to real students and watching how they use the app.

ROLE 02 // EQUITY PARTNER

Product Focus Areas

  • ↳Talk to students: Regularly check in with users to understand how they actually study and when they get stressed about exams.
  • ↳First-time experience: Make sure a new student gets real value out of the app within their first minute of using it.
  • ↳Keeping people coming back: Try simple ideas, like reminders, streaks, and progress markers, to build a habit.
  • ↳Getting people to pay: Work with the founder to test what makes students willing to pay, and at what price.
  • ↳Learning from drop-off: Ask students why they stopped using the app and look for patterns worth fixing.

The Deal: Equal Equity, No Hostage Situations

Most early-stage startups offer tiny advisory shares while expecting full-time work. That's not how we're doing this. Founding partners are getting real ownership.

Here's the equity and vesting breakdown:

• 10% to Felabs Studio: For building and running the app, covering AI and hosting costs, and ongoing engineering support.

• 90% split equally 3 ways: Between the founder and the two founding partners, 30% each.

• Standard 4-year vesting with a 1-year cliff: You earn your equity over time by doing the work.

• $10,000 MRR walkaway clause: Once we hit $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue, anyone can leave and keep everything they've vested so far. No arguments, no clawbacks.

"We want people who take real ownership, move quickly, and actually care about helping students stop panicking before exams."

How to Apply

We're not asking for a resume or a slide deck. We want to see that you can actually do the work.

If you want to help build StudRush, message @FelixAwere on X or email partners@felabs.dev with:

1. Which role you want: Growth & Community, or Product.

2. Proof of work: Links to content you've made, communities you've grown, or things you've built before.

3. Your first 30 days: Three specific things you'd try in your first month to get StudRush in front of its first 1,000 students.

Let's build something worth using.

Key Engineering Takeaways
[1]StudRush is a live app that helps students figure out what to study before an exam.
[2]2 founding partner roles open: Growth & Community, and Product.
[3]90% of the operating equity is split equally 3 ways (30% each) with standard 4-year vesting and a 1-year cliff.
[4]Anyone can walk away with their vested equity once the app hits $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue, no strings attached.
